It’s pothole season!
The Village of Cumberland says snow and rain cause damage to the roads each year.
Freezing and thawing can cause pavement to fail, especially on some of our older streets where there is no gravel road base.
Once crews have done what they can to truck away some of the snow volume from arterial roads and some of the local collector roads, crews will begin cold patching potholes as resources and weather allow.
Crews are limited to using temporary cold patches until hot asphalt repairs are possible in the spring and summer. Drivers are asked to use caution and drive with care.
