The Village of Cumberland is advising residents that they may experience delays in receiving notices and other types of correspondence from the Village through the mail due to the potential Canada Post strike.

A reminder that property taxes must be paid by July 2 to avoid a 10% penalty.

Cheque payments that are currently in the property of Canada Post upon the due date will be applied the day they are received by the Village.

CUPW and Canada Post returned to the bargaining table last week, along with mediators. If no deal is reached by May 22, postal workers could walk off the job once again.

Cumberland is suggesting residents sign up for eBilling to receive property tax and utility bill notices and to be informed about amounts due and receive details about how to claim a homeowner grant.

If you own more than one property in the Village, you need to sign up for eBilling for each separate property.
