The Village of Cumberland has come out with a friendly reminder for dog owners to observe the expected etiquette while out walking the dogs.
Specifically, a new notice was posted last week, reminding pet owners to keep dogs on a leash in public places or risk fines ranging from $50-$250.
The Village also points out that except for the fenced off-leash dog park, dogs are not permitted in Village Park, to keep the park clean and safe for everyone.
It should also go without saying that you should pick up after your dog - including in the Community Forest.
For those utilizing the Cumberland trail network, please familiarize yourself with the Cumberland Trail Network Etiquette and Code of Conduct.
