It was a first for the Victoria Fire Department.
Firefighters were called out to the St. John the Divine Anglican Church on Quadra Street Wednesday morning after reports of an accident. A technician working on the church organ became stuck in the pipes.
Captain Rich Sulsbury says the man had managed to free himself from the pipes by the time firefighters arrived but was still trapped in a larger space.
The technician was assessed on scene by paramedics, but Sulsbury was not sure if he required treatment in hospital, as firefighters were called out to another emergency before paramedics left the scene.
