The Comox Valley Regional District has provided an update from on May’s sewage leak into Comox Harbour.

In a social media post this week, the CVRD says water and sediment testing continues. It’s being conducted every second week.

A water quality advisory remains in place for the foreshore at the spill site extending to the low tide line.

The water in the Comox Harbour Authority east marina has now shown to be consistently safe for several rounds of testing and so the advisory has been lifted from the marina. People and pets should continue to not interact with the foreshore.

The District says water quality throughout the Comox Harbour wharf continues to test safe for public access.

Results will be published as they are received, and the community will be kept informed of any updates at Comox Valley Regional District.
