Comox Valley RCMP have provided an update from after they put out a call for information on a decades-old investigation.
Police were looking for info about individuals who may have been living at or regularly occupying the former Courtenay Train Station between 1989 and 1991.
As a result of information received, police say they have successfully identified and located the family.
They have since been in contact with police and the investigation is moving forward.
“We are grateful to the community for coming forward and sharing information” said Cst. Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer for the Comox Valley RCMP.
“Even many years later, the willingness of the public to assist can play a critical role in advancing investigations”.
Police won’t be releasing further details at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.
