Families in Union Bay are getting back to the playground.

The Comox Valley Regional District, in partnership with the Union Bay Community Club, has officially opened the Union Bay Playground.

Jenny Sagan, a UBCC Board member, says they anticipate the playground will be enjoyed by local families for many years to come.

Work to bring a new playground to Union Bay began in 2023, as the previous playground was in disrepair and needed replacement.

UBCC received grant funding from the Electoral Area A Baynes Sound Community Works Funds along with funding from the CVRD’s Parks service.

Staff worked with the club to plan and replace the playground in partnership with the volunteers and community members.
