Two people have been killed and two arrested after a shooting in broad daylight in Whistler on Sunday.
The shooting shut down Whistler Blackcomb shortly before 1230pm yesterday afternoon.
A spokesperson for the resort says they remained closed for the day out of respect for those affected.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken the lead of the investigation, working alongside the RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Services, the B.C. Coroners Service, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia, and the Sea to Sky RCMP.
RCMP say two people were later taken into custody.
“As a result of the dynamic response and rapid evidence collection by officers, Sea-to-Sky RCMP were able to locate and apprehend multiple individuals,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti, of IHIT.
Investigators have identified the victims as Satindera Gill and Meninder Dhaliwal.
RCMP say that both were known to police.
