The City of Courtenay will be upgrading the traffic signal cabinet at the intersection of Lerwick Road and Idiens Way.
Traffic lights will be turned off until 11am.
There is no road closure, but lane reductions on all four approaches (some may be limited to a single lane).
The City says the infrastructure improvements will enhance pedestrian safety and support the Safe and Active School Program.
