The Town of Comox recreation department will be hosting the 28th Annual Operation High Jump at Vanier Track in Courtenay this Friday (Sept 22).
“The day will be full of smiles and high fives,” said Heather Bailey, recreation programmer at the Comox Community Centre.
The long-standing annual event showcases the talents and sportsmanship of adults with disabilities in the community.
Participants travel from as far away as Powell River to take part in this just-for-fun track meet.
The Courtenay Kiwanis Club will be onsite, offering supportive and enthusiastic volunteers.
Lunch will be provided for the athletes, Water Pure and Simple will keep participants hydrated, and St. John Ambulance will take care of any first aid needs.
This annual event is free for participants and registration can be completed online by visiting Town of Comox.
