The Town of Comox is hosting a free informative workshop for those considering running in the 2026 municipal election, as well as those interested in learning more about local government and civic leadership.

It’s taking place on Thursday, August 27, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Hall at the Comox Community Centre.

The session will provide participants with a practical understanding of local government, elected office, and community leadership.

Whether you're considering putting your name forward as a candidate or want to be a more informed elector, the Town says the workshop will offer valuable insight into the realities of local government and the role elected officials play in shaping the future of their communities.

Jordan Wall, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Comox, says it will be an excellent opportunity for electors to better understand how local government works, what it means to serve in elected office, and how thoughtful leadership can help support the future of the community.

The workshop is free and open to drop-in attendees; however, pre-registration is appreciated to assist with room setup and planning.
