The Town of Comox Recreation Department is gearing up for the 47th Annual Comox Polar Bear Swim.
Brave participants are encouraged to take the plunge into the crisp waters of the Salish Sea at Goose Spit on Monday, January 1.
Registration will kick-off the event at 10:30 a.m., with the invigorating dip scheduled to begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. By registering onsite, participants are eligible for prizes, including a Comox Community Centre Fitness Studio membership.
“As the holiday season approaches, there is an undeniable air of excitement to begin the New Year,” said Mayor, Nicole Minions.
“There is a sense of refresh and renewal that goes along with jumping into the cold Salish Sea together. The dip at the Goose Spit is an invigorating way to celebrate 2024. We extend a warm welcome to both new participants and returning enthusiasts to join us.”
The family-friendly event is open to all, and participation is free of charge.
Comox Fire Rescue will be stationed onsite, ensuring the safety of participants and providing standby assistance if needed.
