The Town of Comox is discontinuing the use of the social media platform X (formally Twitter), after a decision was approved at the June 4th meeting of Town Council.
To continue engaging with the community online, the Town will enhance its presence on other social media platforms and has activated an official Bluesky account.
The Town says the move aligns with recent shifts by other local governments, including the Comox Valley Regional District, which is also active on Bluesky.
The Town of Comox will share relevant updates and information on the new platform to keep online users informed.
For residents who do not use social media, the Town's website remains the primary source for news, updates and municipal information.
Additionally, the Town encourages participation on the Comox Valley online engagement platform that allows residents to follow Town and valley-wide projects, share feedback and stay involved in local decision-making.
