The Town of Comox has announced a celebration of life ceremony for former mayor Russ Arnott.
Arnott died on November 11th, surrounded by family.
The town says all are welcome to pay their respects and celebrate the legacy of the former mayor, on Sunday, February 19th, at the Comox Community Centre.
A book of condolences has been set up at town hall since Arnott’s passing.
You’re invited to sign the book at town hall before the service, or you can send an online message through the town’s website that will be shared with his family.
In lieu of flowers, and respecting the wishes of Arnott’s family, donations can be made to any local charity in his memory.
Arnott was first elected to Town council in 2008 before taking the Mayor's chair in 2018 and spent years working on several different boards and committees, including the Comox BIA, the Marina Enhancement Committee, and the Comox Valley Accessibility Committee, among others.
