By Jay Herrington

The Chief of Tk'emlups te Secwepemc First Nation says she's excited about the possibility of hosting the 2027 NorthAmerican Indigenous Games.

The games feature eight days of competition in sports, including lacrosse, baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming, and wrestling.

Rosanne Casimir says the Nation is excited to showcase the area to the thousands of Indigenous athletes, coaches, and team staff that participate in the games every four years.

Casimir says she hopes people take pride in the community and within their nation if they can celebrate a winning bid.

The winner is expected to be announced during the closing ceremonies of the 2023 games in Halifax next July.
