Officials have provided an update on the wildfire situation on Vancouver Island.
There are at least three wildfires of note, including west of Campbell River.
BC Wildfire Services says the large wildfire west of Port Alberni is now categorized as being held.
Discovered Sunday, the fire, human-caused, grew to just over 25 hectares but is expected to remain in its current perimeter.
Another fire, discovered on Monday just west of Campbell River, is also being held.
The 4 hectare blaze near Quinsam River is also suspected to be caused by humans.
There is also a fire burning out of control southwest of Parksville.
It's about 6 hectares in size but was expected to grow.
