A few events were quite successful over the weekend that raised thousands for the community.
The Campbell River & North Island Transition Society held their 1st annual Dance Away Domestic Violence event at Quinsam Hall in Campbell River.
They raised close to $12,000 on Saturday.
Also, it was a great start toward the Campbell River Hospice Society’s $100-thousand fundraising campaign.
An event Friday - Inner Sanctum - showcased the work of acclaimed local artist Norman Marshall, who hasn’t done a showing in two decades.
Seven pieces were sold and remainder are on exhibit, and for sale, at the Hospice Centre at 440 Evergreen Road - until Friday, (8 am to 4 pm daily).
Twenty-five percent of proceeds go to the fundraising campaign.
Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of Campbell River set a post-COVID record with its Online & TV auction.
They raised over $115,000. Funds year are again staying in Campbell River with proceeds going towards developing the traffic circle on Baikie Island with some local art in the coming year.
