Communities across Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast will take part in the 46th annual Terry Fox Run on Sunday, in suport of cancer research.
Participants have been fundraising and will register as individuals, families or teams, then walk, run or ride at an local event.
Local events include a run along Campbell River’s sea walk between Frank James Park and Rotary Park, as well as gatherings at the Comox Valley Sports Centre and CFB Comox.
Runs will also take place at Rathtrevor Provincial Park in Parksville, the Port Alberni Valley Legion and at the Powell River Recreation Complex.
The annual event supports the Terry Fox Foundation’s work to fund cancer research. Since the first Terry Fox Run in 1981, participants have raised more than $900 million.
