Police are looking for help identifying a suspect after an attempted robbery at an ATM outside of the Bank of Montreal in Courtenay last month.
On February 23, around 8:20 p.m., Comox Valley RCMP responded to the BMO on England Avenue after receiving a report of an attempted robbery at the ATM.
During the course of the investigation, police learned that a male suspect approached a female victim using the ATM and allegedly attempted to rob her by producing an edged weapon.
The suspect was not successful and subsequently departed the area.
Police have released surveillance footage of the suspect and are asking the public for assistance, should anyone recognize him.
He is described as caucasian, in his mid to late 40s, and is about 5’10”. He was wearing a dark green rain jacket with a small yellow “Weed Man” logo.
