There are still few details after a plane was hijacked from Victoria International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the plane was hijacked around 1:15pm on Tuesday.

The suspect, the sole person on the Cessna 172, then circled Vancouver International.

Both airports experienced flights being grounded, temporarily.

At 1:45 p.m., the plane safely landed at YVR and Richmond RCMP officers arrested the suspect without incident.

RCMP say as the investigation is active and ongoing, with numerous factors still being assessed, no further details will be shared at this time.
