A survey closes today for residents in Electoral Area C who are being asked what they think about Short-Term Rentals.
Through current land-use bylaws for Quadra Island , Short-Term Rentals have historically been considered commercial use and are only permitted in commercial zones where a resort or other tourist accommodation is permitted.
An amendment would allow permitting Short-Term Rentals in all residential zones within the Quadra Island Zoning Bylaw.
A STR can be provided for less than 90 consecutive days - it’s also called a “vacation rental” you can find on apps such as AirBnB or VRBO.
The Strathcona Regional District is asking residents how to best regulate Short-Term Rentals while balancing the needs of all community members in the Desolation Sound Rural Land Use area.
The survey, which wraps today, can be found at Strathcona Regional District Facebook.
