Stage one watering restrictions come into effect in Campbell River and the Comox Valley on Monday.
In efforts to ensure there’s enough water available for firefighting and other services during the summer months, in Campbell River, lawn watering is permitted at odd-numbered addresses on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5 to 9 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m., and at even-numbered addresses on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 5 to 9 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.
There are no restrictions on watering gardens, trees, shrubs, and community gardens by hand or with spring-loaded type nozzles with automatic shut-off connected to the hose.
For those in the Comox Valley Water System, lawn and garden sprinkling is permitted between the hours of 5 am – 8 am and 7 pm – 10 pm, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for even numbered addresses and Wednesday, Friday and Sunday for odd numbered addresses.
The Comox Valley Water System includes the Town of Comox, City of Courtenay, and the Comox Valley Water Local Service Area.
