The Strathcona Regional District is sending out invites to households in the Upper Campbell Lake area for a hybrid community meeting to discuss a fire protection plan for the area.
The SRD Board has directed staff to investigate the level of interest from properties in the Upper Campbell Lake area about receiving fire protection services.
Currently, the area does not receive fire protection.
The SRD points out that the Regional District has no history associated with the initiative nor has it been directly approached by residents in the proposed study area requesting assistance.
The purpose of the meeting is to determine whether sufficient interest exists to warrant further study and to seek input from properties that may be affected.
The district says the feedback from the meeting will either justify further investigation or indicate that there is no need to take it further.
The meeting is happening at 7:00 pm on Monday June 26th at the Strathcona Park Lodge or via Zoom.
