Friday is the first official day of the Spring season.

The vernal equinox happens when the sun crosses the equator, bringing nearly equal amounts of daylight and darkness.

Spring officially began at 7:46 a.m PST this morning.

From this point on, days will continue to get longer, with more daylight hours leading into the summer months.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
