There will be a pair of drop-ins today and tomorrow to go over plans for the Sewer Conveyance Project in the Comox Valley, and how they relate to traffic management.
Upgrades are now underway which will see 9 kms of new sewer force main installed from the Courtenay Pump Station, through Comox, and onto the wastewater treatment plant on Brent Road, with work happening along key traffic corridors.
For most of 2025, this will require one-way vehicle traffic along Comox Road, headed westward. Vehicle traffic heading into Comox from Courtenay (eastbound) will be redirected up Ryan Road to Lerwick Road. Bicycle travel will be maintained in both directions on Comox Road.
Charlie Gore, Senior Manager of Capital Projects Delivery, says the plan will keep the best flow for traffic and they’re focused on making sure people are prepared so they know the route and can plan their commute accordingly.
Today’s open house runs from 5pm to 7pm at the CVRD Civic Room. Same place tomorrow, from 12pm to 2pm.
