Second-Degree Murder Charge Laid in Campbell River Stabbing

A 30-year-old woman has died following a stabbing early Saturday morning in downtown Campbell River.

RCMP were called to the 1300 block of Dogwood Street around 2 a.m. Officers immediately attempted life-saving measures on the victim, who had suffered a critical stab wound. Despite efforts from police, Fire, and BC Ambulance, she did not survive.

A 29 year old - Pauline Bruce - was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken with investigators to contact the Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221.
