Two people are facing charges after a drug investigation in Campbell River.
On September 5, police executed simultaneous search warrants at properties located in the 800 block of Homewood Road and the 800 block of Greenwood Road as part of a lengthy drug trafficking investigation.
As part of the searches, police seized:
- 128 grams of Fentanyl
- 140 grams of cocaine
- 19 grams of crack cocaine
- 47 grams of methamphetamine
- 250 suspected prescription hydromorphone pills
In addition, police seized over $16,000 in cash, and a loaded and prohibited handgun.
Inspector Jeff Preston says Campbell River is experiencing one of the highest rates of overdose deaths in the province and they’re doing everything they can to remove toxic drugs from the streets.
A 65-year old man from Campbell River and a 19-year-old man from Surrey were arrested and later released to appear in court pending charge approval.
Police are asking anyone with information into drug trafficking in the community, to contact Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221.
