School District 72 is getting set for the return to school - just a few weeks away.

Most students will start on Tuesday, September 2, but start times may vary depending on grade or program.

Kindergarten students begin the year with a gradual entry process, which helps them adjust to school and gives teachers time to get to know each child.

Most kindergarten students will attend for one hour on September 2.

After the first day, teachers will follow up with families to explain the gradual entry schedule.

If your child is new to the district, you are asked to make sure to register by August 29 to secure a spot at your neighbourhood school.

If there is no space at your neighbourhood school or you register late, your child will be added to a waitlist and may be placed at a different school.

Elementary schools reopen on August 25 for registrations and questions.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
