The Rotary Club of Campbell River says this year’s March for Children fundraiser was a success, raising more than $15,000 to support local health care.
The annual event was held on Saturday, March 14, in Campbell River, with Rotary volunteers stationed at several busy intersections collecting donations from motorists and pedestrians.
Organizers say they raised $15,600 during the event and called it a great day for the community.
Funds raised through the March for Children campaign will go to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation to help purchase two vital signs monitors for the maternity department at Campbell River Hospital.
The monitors are used in pediatric care to track important health indicators and provide real-time information that can help identify early changes in a patient’s condition and guide medical decisions.
Community members who were unable to donate in person can still contribute at Campbell River Hospital Foundation or by visiting the foundation’s Facebook page.
