There’s a newly transformed entrance to Raven Park and Baikie Island, and the public is being invited to a Revitalization Ceremony on Tuesday.
Rotary Club of Campbell River President Greg Manzulenko says the entrance is now a more welcoming and meaningful space for the community.
The project features a hand-carved Indigenous archway, restored native plants, public art installations, and accessible trails.
In partnership with the Campbellton Neighbourhood Association, and with the support of the City of Campbell River, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, Island Coastal Economic Trust, and numerous local businesses, the upgrades celebrate both nature and culture.
The Revitalization Ceremony will take place at 11am, and includes a special blessing of the archway - a ceremony inviting all to walk with respect, learn from the land and enjoy the beauty of Raven Park and Baikie Island.
If you are planning to attend, there will be no public parking available in the Raven Park lot on Tuesday to allow room for guests to gather, but parking is available on public streets.
