Campbell River RCMP are investigating reported property damage on the Inland Island Highway.

Police advise an individual or group have purposefully removed and damaged Red Dresses placed along the highway to honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Two Spirited People.

The most recent instance of mischief took place overnight on November 24th South of Campbell River at the Inland Island Highway and Airport Main overpass.

A number of the painted wooden dresses at that location were torn down and destroyed.

Constable Maury Tyre says multiple people have put their time, money, and heart into making the dresses and police are asking anyone who may have knowledge regarding those responsible to contact the Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
