The City of Campbell River is in the final stages of updating the Quinsam Heights Neighbourhood Plan and is seeking input to help shape the future of the growing area.

They’re holding an open house on Monday, December 08, from 5pm to 8pm, at the Campbell River Community Centre.

It will be a drop-in event with information boards showcasing the proposed plan.

Residents will have the chance to explore the proposed vision for Quinsam Heights and what’s planned for the neighbourhood, ask questions and connect with City staff and planning experts, and share feedback to help refine the plan before it’s finalized.

The Quinsam Heights Neighbourhood Plan was last updated in 2008. Since then, Quinsam Heights has seen rapid new growth and development.

As the city continues to grow, Quinsam Heights will continue to be an important growth area to address the community's future housing needs.

The City says the update will guide how the neighbourhood evolves to meet future housing needs while balancing retail, business, open space, transportation and recreation, and areas that are a key part of the neighbourhood's identity.

“This plan will be the blueprint for how Quinsam Heights develops for years to come,” says Andy Gaylor, Director of Community Planning and Livability.

“Community input is essential because these decisions shape not just housing and amenities, but the overall livability and identity of the neighbourhood. The feedback we’ve received so far has significantly improved the plan, and we’re excited to hear your thoughts in this final phase.”

The latest draft of the plan was shared with Council this summer and is available to review on the project webpage at Quinsam Heights Neighbourhood Plan.
