Construction starting today, for the next couple of weeks, in Courtenay’s Puntledge Park area.
Daily road closures will happen on 1st Street, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., as part of the 1st Street Lift Station Project, adjacent to the entrance to Puntledge Park.
Work will take about two weeks and the road will reopen for evenings and weekends.
The City says the upgrades are essential to improve the overall service of the local sewer system, mitigate operational risk, and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.
The closure will affect 1st Street, between Menzies and Woods Avenues. The detour runs via Woods Ave to Lake Train and Powerhouse Roads.
