Crews will be working on a section of Comox Road between the Old Island Highway and the Highway 19A bypass today, as well as on the Old Island Highway near the Lewis Centre.

The work will involve drilling and sampling in various locations in the work zone to investigate environmental and soil conditions in preparation for future upgrades to sewer infrastructure in the area.

Work should only last one day and commuters are being told to expect some minor delays.

Meanwhile, Royston Road in Cumberland has been closed between Ulverston Avenue and Union Road due to a collapsed culvert.

Drivers are advised to use Cumberland Rd for travel in and out of Cumberland.

In a release issued yesterday, the Village said this section of Royston Rd is anticipated to be closed for a minimum of 2 days.

Updated information will be posted on the village’s website as it becomes available.
