Three day-use parks are closing to the public until highway 4 fully reopens.

Single-lane-alternating traffic will begin moving on the highway this weekend and the park closures will help with traffic flow until the highway fully re-opens.

MacMillan Provincial Park (Cathedral Grove) and the day-use picnic areas of Cameron Lake and Beaufort in Little Qualicum Falls will be temporarily closed to help reduce traffic congestion and keep traffic through the corridor flowing smoothly.

Barrier fencing will be in place at MacMillan Provincial Park. Parking areas will be reserved for use by ministry staff only, who will be on site to guide traffic.

The Cameron Lake Bluffs fire began on June 6th. While some traffic will be allowed through starting this weekend, a full re-opening isn’t expected until mid-July.
