You may notice increased aircraft activity over the next little bit as military training takes place at 19 Wing Comox.
The Canadian Forces School of Search and Rescue will be conducting parachute proficiency training through May 11th.
During that time, a civilian Skyvan aircraft will be flying in the area, with parachutists jumping between roughly 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day.
Most landings are expected to take place on the 19 Wing Comox airfield, as well as in nearby surrounding areas.
Officials say the training is a key part of maintaining readiness for search and rescue operations.
Training times may vary depending on weather conditions, with adjustments made as needed to ensure safety.
Residents are welcome to watch and take photos of the exercises but are being asked to keep a safe distance and avoid approaching designated landing zones.
