One-way traffic for Comox Hill begins today as work continues on the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project.

The one-way section of Comox Road is moving to Comox Hill with one way traffic estimated to last until September as crews construct the new sewer forcemain pipe.

Until June 3rd, traffic will be one-way 24 hours per day, seven days a week, moving west from the town towards Courtenay.

After June 3rd traffic will be one-way from 6am to 8pm daily, closed overnights from 8pm to 6am, and re-opened to one-way traffic on weekends.

Two-way bike and pedestrian traffic will be possible through the construction zone 24 hrs/day, seven days a week for now, with more time changes happening in June.

The section of Comox Road which is currently closed, will re-opening mid-morning on Monday.

Vehicles  crossing the 17th Street Bridge will again be able to turn right onto Comox Road.

Two way-traffic will be possible, but only up to the construction zone.

A U-turn route is in place for traffic to turn around safely.

All traffic bound for Comox will continue to be detoured onto the official detour route, up Ryan Road and onto Lerwick Road.
