Thankfully, there were no injuries after a fire at a popular Comox Valley Coffee Shop.

The fire started early yesterday morning at the Komox Grind Espresso and Smoothie Bar.

It also affected about 25 people who live in condos above the shop - they were all evacuated safely while crews knocked down the fire, being blamed on an electrical issue.

Residents were allowed back into their homes a short time later.

The coffee shop sustained water and smoke damage - it's not known how long the doors will be closed for repair.
