The BC Chamber of Commerce has a new chair.
North Island Employment Foundations Society’s Chris Callanan has been announced as the new Chair of the Board of Directors for the British Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
As Chair, Callanan will now lead the BC Chamber of Commerce in its mission to champion policies that foster economic growth, job creation, and a robust business environment across British Columbia.
He will continue to support the 80+ chambers of commerce and boards of trade, and their 36,000 member businesses throughout the province.
In a release, the Society says Callanan’s extensive experience as a business leader in the North Island, coupled with his proven success as their Regional Manager of Employer Services, makes him well-equipped to guide the Chamber forward.
The Society notes his commitment to the community is further evidenced by his previous involvement with various City of Campbell River Advisory Groups and Commissions, as well as his past roles as Vice Chair of the Campbell River Chamber of Commerce and President of the board of directors for the Port Hardy Chamber of Commerce.
