The Village of Cumberland and CUPE Local 556 have ratified a new three-year collective agreement following votes by both sides.
The agreement, which is retroactive to January 1st of this year and runs until the end of 2027, includes wage increases of 5 percent in the first and second years and 4 percent in the third year.
The deal also includes improvements to benefits and changes to contract language to help support clarity and efficiency in daily operations.
Both the Village and the union say the agreement helps address cost-of-living pressures while continuing to protect service levels, stability, and fairness for employees and taxpayers.
Representatives on both sides say they’re pleased to have reached a timely agreement ahead of the holiday season and are looking forward to ongoing collaboration.
