North Island College is highlighting a new student award that aims to make a difference for neurodivergent students.
Romana Frey was diagnosed at 61 with both autism spectrum disorder and ADHD.
Now 64, she has launched a new $1,000 annual award through the NIC Foundation, specifically for neurodiverse students.
Frey says she wants to help people the way she wishes she had been helped.
Now splitting her time between Salt Spring Island and Mexico, Frey is coaching clients, writing a memoir, and staying connected to the Comox Valley, where her son was also diagnosed as neurodiverse.
