The Cumberland Community Schools Society is hosting its Holiday and Gift Emporium this afternoon.
It’s running from 2:45pm to 7pm in the Strathcona Gym at Cumberland Community School.
Families can shop for gently used toys, books, games and household items, all available by donation.
The Society’s annual online silent auction is also underway.
Items up for bid include artwork, clothing and gift cards, and many will be on display at the event for people to view in person before placing a final bid.
The auction closes Friday, December 12th at 9pm.
Both initiatives support the Nourish a Neighbour fundraising campaign, which aims to raise $65 thousand by the end of January to help address food insecurity in the community.
The Society says its food programs prepare more than fifty-two hundred meals per month, with a portion provided free to families in need.
The organization also delivers bi-weekly food hampers to seventy-six households in the area.
