Hopeful Electoral Area Directors were first of the mark in a series of debate ahead of the October 15th municipal elections.

Candidates met Tuesday night to debate the issues at the Tidemark Theatre.

It's the first of a number of debates to be held over the next couple of weeks, put on by the Campbell River & District Chamber of Commerce, The Campbell River Mirror, and the Tidemark Theatre Society.

Mayoral candidates will debate Wednesday evening.

Beginning Thursday, the first of three debates for those running for council. As there are 14 candidates in the running, the council debates are being split up, with another on Monday and then next Wednesday.

Candidates for school trustee will round out the debates on October 5th.

Seating is limited at the theatre and is on a first come first serve basis.

You can also watch the debates live on the Campbell River Mirror Facebook page or the live stream on the Tidemark Theatre website.

Recordings will be posted 24 hours after each event on both the Chamber's YouTube channel and the Mirror's website.
