More than a thousand people are on evacuation orders in the province.

There's a big wildfire burning about eight kilometres outside Hudson's Hope.

BC Wildfire Service says crews were working to build a control line between the fire and community of about 900.

The fire is also about four kilometres away from the W.A.C. Bennett Dam on the Peace River, which is a key power generator for BC Hydro.

BC Wildfire Service says it expects increased fire behavior this week as sun and warm temperatures continue.
