It was a big boost to help end domestic violence in our region.
The Campbell River and North Island Transition Society are benefiting BIG from a charity golf tournament over the weekend.
100.7 The Raven presented the 3rd Annual ‘Drive Away Domestic Violence’ Charity Golf Day at Storey Creek Golf Course.
The tournament was raising funds for the Society, which provides services, support & programs to women & children facing violence on the North Island.
Public Relations & Economic Development Co-Ordinator with the Campbell River & North Island Transition Society, Diane Palmer, says the tournament took in $32,000.
Palmer says the funds will go to support programs and services that are offered for free to women with barriers such as being impacted by domestic violence, homelessness, risk of homelessness, substance misuse and or mental health challenges.
With the addition of 55 units in Eagle Harbour (slated to open this Fall), our need will be even greater.
