Expect a few more days of hot weather this week.

Expect a few more days of hot weather this week.

While Environment Canada has not issued a heat warning for Campbell River or the Comox Valley, it has for areas to the south, specifically Nanaimo to Duncan.

Daytime highs near 30 degrees with overnight lows in the mid-teens are expected to last through Thursday.

BC Fire Service is keeping an eye on things with more lightning strikes expected, specifically in the Southeast Fire Centre, where 37 percent of current provincial wildfire activity is centered.

There are 215 active fires burning in the province, up 65 in the last two days.

Of those, 38-percent are considered being held or under control.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
