Drivers in Campbell River are being advised of a lengthy road closure beginning on Monday.

Spruce Street will be fully closed to vehicle traffic between 19th Avenue and Island Highway 19A while construction is underway.

The closure is expected to remain in place until late December.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the project, but parking will not be available along Spruce Street.

The lane immediately north of Island Highway 19A will also be closed where it meets Spruce Street.

Redwood Street is expected to close periodically during the fall.

When those closures are in effect, Spruce Street will temporarily reopen to single-lane alternating traffic under the direction of onsite traffic-control personnel.

Drivers should expect delays, allow additional travel time and obey all posted signs and directions.
