B.C.’s newest political party continues to grow, with another Independent MLA joining the group taking shape in Victoria.

Boundary-Similkameen MLA Donegal Wilson says she will join the six other MLAs working to establish Peter Milobar’s yet-to-be-named party.

Wilson recently left the B.C. Conservative caucus, saying she could no longer support the leadership of Kerry-Lynne Findlay.

While she initially had no plans to join another party, Wilson says her political principles have not changed.

She says discussions with the Independent MLAs convinced her that the group is willing to have difficult conversations about what the new party should represent and how it should operate.

Wilson says she wants to help build a practical and fiscally responsible alternative to the governing NDP ahead of the next provincial election.
