Comox Valley RCMP is asking for residents to check any surveillance video they may have after a break and enter last weekend.
Police were called to a home on the 100 block of 13th Street in Courtenay in the morning of Sunday, December 28.
An 83-year old woman, who was home at the time, reported that someone had broken in.
She described him as wearing all dark clothing and sunglasses.
The investigation is progressing, and investigators from the Major Crime Unit are actively following up on leads.
The area has been canvassed for surveillance footage.
However, some people may not have been home or available at the time to speak with police.
“We are asking residents and businesses in the surrounding area to review any security camera or dash cam footage from the morning of December 28th and give us a call with anything out of the ordinary” said Constable Monika Terragni, Comox Valley RCMP Media Relations Officer.
“We are also taking the opportunity to remind residents to take safety precautions, including ensuring doors and windows are locked and reporting suspicious activity right away”.
Anyone with information or relevant video footage is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP at (250) 338-1321 and refer to file 2025-19661.
