Thursday is the final day to vote to help a local country artist get closer to the title of America’s Top Hitmaker.
CJ Sargent sits 4th in the quarterfinals of the North American competition that shines a light on emerging musical talent.
Sargent was born and raised in Alberta and has been playing gigs in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan over the years.
He’s now based in Courtenay.
Sargent says from Alberta farm life to BC music stages, to now competing on one of the biggest music contests out there is a journey that represents what Western grit, heart, and community are all about.
The winner gets $50,000, a spot in Rolling Stone magazine, and will perform at the Global Citizen Festival - a 24-hour global event that organizers say is meant to unite the world to defend the planet and defeat poverty.
You can vote for CJ at America’s Top Hitmaker.
